This blog is written with the intention of remaining anonymous. Not so much because I wish to remain anonymous, but to allow anonymity of the hospitals, doctors and many other care providers who have been involved with my care. Additionally, it is not intended to provide any medical advice. My knowledge of medicine is minimal and I am in no way qualified to provide medical advice. I will however provide some basic biographic information to help readers better understand my perspective.
My name is Jim and I live in a major metropolitan area on the east coast of the United States. During the summer of 2024 I was 59 years old with a medical history that included a number of significant, but not serious issues. These have included a corneal transplant, a cervical spine discectomy and fusion, long term issues with lyme disease, and type two diabetes.
I have spent the better part of my adult life avoiding doctors and taking prescriptions as much as possible. My concerns with our health care system have been centered on my belief that doctors tend to treat symptoms and little effort is put into identifying root causes. This belief is not rooted in fact however, just my personal experiences.
It is my hope that the information provided here will be helpful to others. If you would like any additional information about me or one of the blog posts please reach out via the Contact Us page.
